10 picnickers kidnapped from Quetta outskirts

QUETTA: On Thursday, unidentified gunmen abducted 10 individuals, including a customs officer, from Shaban, a popular picnic spot near the provincial capital.

Reports indicate that a group of armed men surrounded picnickers at Shaban, checking their national identity cards. Upon finding addresses from Punjab, the armed men separated 14 individuals from the crowd, releasing four later and taking the remaining 10 to an undisclosed location.

Among those abducted was a customs official who was also enjoying a picnic at the site, according to officials familiar with the incident.

Security forces swiftly responded to the abduction, launching a search operation in the mountainous area surrounding Shaban. At least six suspects have been apprehended for interrogation in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, the banned Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the kidnapping, stating that its Fateh squad conducted the operation.
